Overview

Surprise yourself with this amazing tour of the Portuguese Rome, the centre of Minho and the city of Baroque, Braga!

Braga is one of the oldest Christian cities in the world with over 2000 years of history.

The Cathedral (Sé) is considered as one of the most important Romanesque temples in the country.

The Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary was considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019.

Itinerary

1º
Our tour starts in the morning when the Humus Travel guide picks up from your hotel / accommodation.
2º
Travel by Mercedes Class V van towards Portuguese Rome, Braga.
3º
We begin our tour of the Central Avenue Square Fountain where you can see Central Avenue, where there are several shops and cafes.
4º
After a short walk we pay a visit to Casa Rolão, considered in 1977. Property of Public Interest is a civilian example of the Baroque style, and immediately afterwards the 16th century Basilica of the Congregates.
5º
Then comes the time to visit Braga Castle where today we only have a keep.
6º
We continue for lunch where typical Portuguese dishes will be served, in an atmosphere full of history since the restaurant is from 1871.

In the afternoon after coming down Rua do Souto, one of the busiest streets in Braga, we arrive at Largo do Paço which has a beautiful fountain named Castles Fountain that was built in 1723 and above has a feminine image that simbolizes the city.

The Braga Cathedral, one of the most important Romanesque temples in the country and the oldest, is the following monument. Braga Cathedral is a symbol of the city.

We continue towards the Arco da Porta Nova which has always been an open door, hence the expression “Are you from Braga?”.

To end our tour we head towards the Bom Jesus do Monte Temple, one of the most beautiful landscapes of the city, surrounding it has a stairway known around the world, gardens with secrets, a lake and a water-powered elevator. , this is currently the oldest in the world still in operation.
11º
